PENNY FINDING MAGIC

Everyone knows the rhyme:

“See a penny, pick it up, all the day you‘ll have good luck>”

It is actually rooted in real folk magic. Finding a penny (once a real bit of money) means that money will come to you as well as good luck. My marking the occasion with a real aknowledgement, that potentil good luck can be made a reality. Here are some variations, some traditional, some not:

SEE A PENNY PICK IT UP, ALL THIS DAY I’LL HAVE GOOD LUCK!

IF THE HEAD IS FACING YOU,
WHAT YOU WISH WILL SOON COME TRUE!

IF IT IS THE BACK YOU SEE,
WITH YOUR MONEY GO BE FREE!

IF A SILVER COIN IS FOUND
ALL YOU INVEST WILL BE SOUND.

IF A COIN IS AT YOUR FEET
SOON YOU WILL SOME MONEY GREET.

These concern money found in different places corresponding to the four elements:

MONEY FOUND IN EARTH
NEW PROFIT WILL GIVE BIRTH

MONEY FOUND IN WATER
GIFTS TO SON OR DAUGHTER

MONEY FOUND IN AIR
SPEND IT WITHOUT CARE!

MONEY FOUND NEAR FIRE
WILL GRANT YOUR TRUE DESIRE!

GRAVEYARD SPELL FOR A FORTUNE

At midnight go to a graveyard and find the grave of a very rich person. Leave a silver coin upon the grave saying three times:

I LEAVE A COIN UPON THIS GRAVE
SOON I WILL A FORTUNE SAVE !

Then thank the dead person. If you hear a strange sound, then the money will come, but if you are filled with terror then the answer is no. Leave the coin and go.

MONEY PIE SPELL

When you really need money, bake a berry pie with the best ingrediants possible and put a new penny in the batter, saying.

BAKE A PENNY IN A PIE
TO US GOOD LUCK WILL FLY!

When you cut it to serve it, say this:

MONEY COME AND GO AROUND
MONEY WILL COM IF IT BE FOUND!

Whoever gets the penny in their piece will get money soon. If it is not found right away, then money will come later. Keep the penny for good luck.

TOSSING A COIN IN WATER FOR LUCK

It is a tradition in many parts of the world to toss a coin in a well, brook or sea for luck. Here are three traditional rymes to use to get what you wish for.

I THROW A COIN INTO A WELL
SOON MY LUCK WILL GROW AND SWELL

I THROW A COIN INTO THE SEA
MANY MORE WILL COME TO ME

I THROW A COIN INTO A CREEK
I'LL GET ALL MONEY THAT I SEEK

SPRING TREE MONEY SPELL

Get a small tree to plant, a Birch tree or an Oak is best. Take a silver coin you have been carrying for at least a week and, on a full moon in the spring, plant the tree and put the coin among the roots of the tree, saying:

HERE TAKES ROOT THE MONEY TREE
EACH SEED IS GOLD EACH LEAF A BILL
MAKING EASY ALL I SEE
EVERY GREEN-NEED IT WILL FILL
SO IT IS
AND SO WILL BE
BY MOTHER EARTH
AND BY THIS TREE
JUSTICE AND CASH WILL BE
FOREVER HERE, FOREVER FREE!

Water this tree every day until it flourishes. Repeat the spell every time you water it.
